Hyperpalatable Foods:
Affect on Taste Many processed foods have been engineered to be so hyper-palatable to our taste buds and “rewarding” to the brain, that they overpower anything we might have come across in nature.
This potent mix (of sweet and fatty and salty) is found in processed foods like cakes, cookies, pastries, pies, pizza, ice cream, and fried foods.
Eating chemically engineered foods can affect how we perceive foods and how much we eat.
Relative to these hyperpalatable products, whole foods are lacking in stimulation. The more processed foods you eat, the less appealing normal food tastes.
